About the Pop-Up Art Show for 2020

The Franklin Arts festival Pop-Up Art Show is the new-look nimble art show, designed for the unique situation that we have found ourselves in this year.   For the first time, we are excited to be able to welcome visitors to both a physical Art Show at the Franklin Arts Centre and also to view the artworks virtually, via our online show at www.franklinartsfestival.co.nz, thanks to the generous support of the Franklin Local Board.

This year's show is also different to the usual Festival format in the following ways:

  • - It will be a cash-and-carry art show - if you see an artwork that you love, you will be able to purchase it there and then - both in the gallery and online!
  • - The Franklin Arts festival has reduced the commission on artwork sales for this year to 20%.  That means that when you purchase an artwork, the artist gets a bigger cut.  So please support the artists by purchasing their work, either in the Franklin Arts Centre or here, on the website!
  • - The show is Open Entry, which means that there are no categories or prizes for 2020.

Artist Demonstrations

Alongside the gallery show, there is an array of artist demonstrations in a wide range of practices. The timetable is available here.
