This series of coloured pencil artworks show ordinary nuts, bolts, screws and washers as symbols of piecing together a mind of disorder. Each fixing of hardware represents resilience, stability and the act of fixing what feels broken, showing that strength is often found in practical places.
I wanted to create a series of work that illustrates the every day unappreciated items that humbly hold us together. Mentally, fixtures, as a representation of practical work, drop us out of our busy, broken minds and into our bodies, highlighting what is real and true.
