Sanctuary

Abstract mixed media piece on wooden panel in greens, blues, orange and yellow. By building up the textured surface of this painting with layers of lines and shapes of intense colour, I like to play with our perception, vision, and focus. The gestural marks create a rhythm, a meditative quality and the illusion of pulsating energy, movement and a sense of aliveness. I want the work to evoke a contemplative quality for the viewer, and a sense of introspection.
