Wetland Wanderers

A group of Pukekos. They always seem to be enjoying each other’s company as they go about their daily lives and I admire the devotion they display in their parenting skills. I find them appealing characters as they strut around with jerky, quirky movements even stopping in mid stride to balance on one leg if that was the moment when they were distracted. Although considered by some as a pest I see them as having a necessary role to play in the ecosystem and deserving of respect.
