Bearing Memory reflects on the enduring presence of love and remembrance. Formed as a half dome textured with hydrangea blooms and layered in blue glazes, the work explores memory, connection, and the passage of time. The hydrangea, my mother’s favourite flower, holds deep personal significance, becoming a symbol of her lasting presence within my practice. Repeated across the curved form, the blooms represent the accumulation of shared experiences and relationships. The dome suggests both earth and shelter, while clay transforms the fleeting beauty of the flower into something enduring, inviting reflection on the people and memories we continue to carry with us.
