Distant Ground

Distant Ground explores the point where landscape begins to dissolve into memory. Soft transitions of light and colour resist a fixed reading, encouraging the viewer to linger between recognition and uncertainty. Rather than describing a particular location, the painting reflects an interest in how atmosphere can compress or extend our sense of distance, allowing familiar forms to remain present yet just beyond certainty.
