Let It Slide

Let It Slide

Clay polymer sculpture: A slide, representing the tradition from childhood to adulthood, and a bear that mourns the slide and its own childhood identity with it, by keeping a hold of it. This work discusses growing up faster than you would like, and the idea that as you grow up you lose a bit of your sparkle; like the sculpture shows, the bear goes from cute sparky teddy to more serious and “grown-up”. As we grow it can be difficult to let go of our childhood identities and even more difficult to find ways to hold onto them.
