I have been inspired to paint my surrounding landscape at sunrise, with the incredible light it brings. Arriving on the morning to get my source images and seeing the fog siting in the valley, reminded me of sea and water and made me want to capture the light and contrast with it.

This portrait was inspired by an ongoing series of small portrait paintings of my family. This one completes my immediate family of five. My self portrait communicates the theme of identity by aiming to capture my likeness.
