Stripped used abundant plastic strapping that has been machine couched with thrift store thread and finally woven into a light wall hung sculptural piece. In the more tedious moments of the creative process it’s easy to let the critics take up rent in your head.
Abundant plastic strapping that has been stripped and knitted to create a wall or ceiling hung sculptural piece. The embellished crosses are machine couched strapping evoking memories of embroidery samplers stitched as a young girl.
Stripped plastic strapping knitted with thrift store cotton, stitched into a vessel shape of an imagined underwater barnacle animal that has evolved to process the abundant plastic littering our oceans into something useful….wouldn’t that be a marvellous thing?
