Contemporary style abstract landscape in floating frame
A framed portrait A3 size assemblage of hand coloured, painted and dyed papers, overstitched in parallel lines top to bottom, using different coloured candle wicking thread. From left to right, cream to pink, orange, tan, dark brown and red then lightening to the edge.
I was inspired by the beautiful butterflies in my garden. Then I added some smaller imaginary stenciled butterfies, and included humour with a trail of ants.
I live near Pukekohe and see tilled land behine old letterboxes. To create this beaten up look I have used corrugated cardboard. To make them outstanding they were painted in vibrant colours.
Watercolor of a sheep shearing shed. During the winter, the owner shears hundreds of sheep a day. Behind the door, a mob of sheep wait their turn. A wonderful experience for me, a part of life for him.
