I have always been an artist and, equally, always been a sailor! These two identities merge in my artwork as the subject matter is usually related to the marine environment. Eg, my landscapes are about the land as seen from the sea, not from the land – sky and water dominate. Also, I will often introduce elements within a work that create an ambiguous narrative – a story possibly – that you, the viewer, may like to re construct.
