Dark Water

Dark Water

Dark Water is a piece that is intentionally very difficult to photograph. It only utilises light gleaned from the surface of graphite to illuminate the subjects and so changes depending on it\’s environment/conditions. The piece draws from the global crises we bear witness to. A reflection of this sense of unease; wading through muddied water but utterly afraid of everything nipping at you. Still it remains abundantly hopeful if the viewer allows it; in some instances all you will see is a black chasm. I choose the eels for their frightening visage, calm demeanor and references to folklore.
