The Kakapo is a NZ native bird easily identified by the vivid colours of their vibrant green feathers.
There are usually always broken shells to find on the beach. The colours, size and shapes vary, but the inside of the shells which you don’t usually see are also very interesting.
The kina shell is varied in blues and greens. The white patterns show when the spiney spikes have fallen off. Interestingly, each kina shell regardless of its size has the same white pattern.
