I am fascinated by the artists of the Renaissance and this painting is in the style of “Chiaroscuro” (the study of light and dark). The subject makes reference to the times we are now all living in.
Matariki is the theme of this painting, where families/friends gather to celebrate and remember ones who have passed celebrate the present and plan for the future. The theme of abundance is relevant to the abundance of love, friendship and sharing of food and memories at this special time.
Everyone can identify with being a Wally on occasion…. This is a playful take on some of the silly things we do with references to the Where\’s Wally Pictures.
