A framed portrait A4 assemblage of hand coloured, painted and dyed papers, overstitched in heavy white sashiko thread in a traditional design.
I was inspired by the beautiful butterflies in my garden. Then I added some smaller imaginary stenciled butterfies, and included humour with a trail of ants.
I live near Pukekohe and see tilled land behine old letterboxes. To create this beaten up look I have used corrugated cardboard. To make them outstanding they were painted in vibrant colours.
These four girls are off to a party with various items that are for the party. They are going to have a good time.
