This painting features two feminine figures dancing atop a dinner party setup, transforming it from a stiff formal event into chaos. It employs a combination of decadence, debauchery and dirt to create a feeling of anxiety that centers around breaking the social expectations for the behavior of women, and of contempt for material luxuries.
