Wood grain highlighted with acrylic to give a dramatic atmosphere of the celestial bodies – the burning brightness of the sun, the moody shadows of the moon.
The juxtaposition of these objects, and their effects on each other during the solar eclipse create an intense contrast that for a moment give us pause, and colours our world differently.
The positioning of this piece illustrates the crescent shape forming (usually synonymous with the moon) to reveal the sun.
So-called the 3rd contact, or the instant when the solar eclipse begins to wane.
