Sunset Seahorse is a watercolour done in two sections. The first section is the background, painted with the cool colours of the ocean and sprinkled with salt to give it some texture. The second section is the seahorse itself, painted with the warm colours of the sunset, to make it stand out against the ocean. Various techniques, like dabbing bubble wrap and paper tissue on the paint, were used to make the seahorse body more interesting.
