Suspended Symmetry

Suspended Symmetry

This photo was taking while on a walk with my dad and dog to the Historic Tauranga Bridge located about 20 minutes from Opotiki where my grandparents live. I was intrigued by the symmetrical structure and how it stood out in its surroundings.
The bridge was built in 1922 and now is the only surviving harp suspension bridge left in Aotearoa according to the DOC website. The bridge was initially built to provide access to sheep farms up the Tauranga Valley now it allows hikers to cross the Waioeka River to complete the Tauranga Loop Track.
