Inspired by traditional Māori flax weaving (raranga), this fused glass piece is made by hand, weaving strips of coloured glass together before firing them in the kiln. The natural greens, whites, and earthy tones reflect Aotearoa’s landscape, creating a one-of-a-kind piece that comes to life as the light shines through.
Inspired by the Tui feather this fused glass piece was shaped in a kiln to celebrate the birds beautiful iridescent colours, The Tui has special spiritual significance and many believe it brings messages from loved ones who have passed.
Inspired by the huia feather, this fused glass artwork is created using layers of coloured glass in the kiln. It honours one of New Zealand’s most treasured native birds. In Māori culture, the huia feather is a symbol of mana, honour, and respect, and serves as a reminder to protect our unique natural heritage.
