This painting was inspired by a photograph my husband took during a road trip through Christchurch several years ago. I was captivated by the duck gliding across the water, surrounded by reflections and colours that created an almost dreamlike, psychedelic atmosphere.
Our cat, Caxton, enjoys the gentle warmth of the morning sun streaming into the dining room. In the background are two pieces of Japanese antique furniture, adding a sense of history and quiet harmony to this peaceful moment.
