Annaliese Duke

Annaliese Duke, a young artist from Patumahoe, crafts vivid narratives through her art, inspired by her journey into adulthood as a young woman. Her paintings embody the experiences of anxious overachievers, decadent party girls, and anyone who has felt compelled to shrink themselves. Her work also explores the bond between humanity and nature, reclaiming the untamed spirit of childhood. Using surrealism, intricate details, and vibrant colours, Annaliese tells stories of anxiety, sexuality, femininity, consumption and the complexities of womanhood in Aotearoa.
