I first became interested in photography when my two daughters became involved in dance, which included jazz ballet, tap dance and dance aerobics which continued for a great many years. I then progressed into taking photos at cultural festivals, street parades and the buskers on Queen Street in Auckland. In recent years I joined a camera club and as a consequence of doing this, I have had to expand my repertoire into taking images of birds. Last summer, I attended the World Wildlife Photo of the Year exhibition at the Auckland War Memorial Museum. This exhibition was just awe-inspiring.
