I’m a self taught textile artist based on the Pohutukawa coast. I use my sewing machine to draw on fabric, creating quirky native birds and flowers, and many of my sketches feature my daughter Lara. My favourite things to create are abstracts and landscapes of our beautiful coast using samples and offcuts of fabric repurposed that would otherwise go to landfill. I can spend hours teasing out the texture and layering every type of fabric you can imagine to create a rich wonderland that draws the eye and imagination.
